So, if I have 4 100w panels and a 600w micro inverter. Can I wire the panels in series and use one inverter since together they don't exceed the max input of the inverter. Or do I still need to get another micro inverter?

  2. Paulo Molina says:

What happens if I connect two 325w panels to it? Why is it advertised for up 310w panels?

  3. Steve rivera says:

i am 100% off grid and need a good 48 volt battery charger to have as back up for my batteries and run it off my 1800 watt invereter generator. , can you recomend one.

  4. Steve rivera says:

What voltage should I set my charge controller to disconnect? And then to reconnect? I have a 48 volt battery bank.

  5. Steve rivera says:

can i wire that to my radien outback 4048 into the ac port as if it is coming from the grid

  6. Russ B says:

Need a cheaper version of off grid only where no grid tie is necessary…

  7. I was talking (Well, trying to, if they'd return my calls…) to our utility company about grid-tie and net metering, and am hoping to set up a grid-tied system soon. These look like the perfect product for what I wanted to do, and since they're modular, it'd be expandable as I am able to grow the system.

I do have one question… can you mix 60 cell and 72 cell panels with these inverters? I assume you can since you said they are compatible with both… but is that both at the same time, in the same string? 😀

  8. Hi, does this work with 230v 50Hz system? Do you have a similar product that work with 230V, 50Hz?

  9. I love this system setup. What kind of bugs me is these magnum microinverter are just a rebranded apsystems yc500a microinverter but are being sold for $70.00 more than the cost of the Apsystems inverters. Does changing the sticker cost that much more? And I've only seen 10yr warranties on either of these microinverters although the Apsystems are for sure extendable to 25yrs. But I do have to say that the Magnum inverter is the sweetness of this setup to be able to trick the microinverters and to also send power to a storage solution. That is something I would consider adding to my grid tie system to be able to add on a battery bank. I'm unsure if Magnum has a web portal website so that one can access the data from the magweb device via phone app or remote pc from a different location. Additionally the magweb doesn't appear to have the wireless to router option interface that the apsystems ECU-3 has. I personally like being able to see what my system is producing when not at home like many of other companies can provide. Is their any other inverters on the marker that do the same thing as this magnum inverter does? Love the videos, love to see whats new for 2018!

Have you ever noticed any problems using a standard MC4 connector? It seems to me with low voltage I'd want to use something with a nice water tight and firm connection with very low contact resistance. Some of the MC4's I've seen look very cheaply made with materials that could erode quickly and not very uniform tolerances. I suppose they vary from brand to brand but if it were me I wouldn't be opposed to soldering it once and never having to deal with it again. A crimp connector seems like the best way to go as long as it was weather tight. In my ham radio antenna connections I just used shrink tubing.

  12. Jesse says:

Hi Amy, does the Ac coupled inverter have inputs for a generator start if the batteries get too low on a power outage?

  13. James Bordon says:

If they make a 800w (400w/pannel) and drop the price a little bit they may put enphase out of business.

  14. Do these have telnet or snmp or direct http for stats? Something that doesnt rely on the cloud/internet upload.

  15. Hi Amy & Co, what is the best (not best per $) panel to pair with these? I want the highest output at most angles, maybe something with multiple technologies and good glass for less bounced energy etc. Can you link to a good panel on your site please? Im wanting to do a ~6-8 panel setup and shade will cover different sets of 2 at different times of day due to large oak trees (which are more important than system energy output).

Just too cute. Margaritas. Love your channel.

  17. Dan Murphy says:

My Power company guy (that I suspects don't under stand Auto Island protection) wants a trip switch/manual reset installed for Island protection. Is there somthing like this or can I just wire a latching circuit for this?

  18. welcome Africa in Tanzania we are going to work together

  19. Mi Mu says:

So you have staged a MS 4448PAE next to the micro inverter in your video; is there a reason for that?(confused). Also and If I understand you correctly, you're suggesting that this m-inverter can be used as part of a standalone off-grid system? (possibly you covered this in a previous video / elsewhere). Thank you!

  20. perhaps a installation video would some of us goofs to visualize this.
