People are so gullible. I looked at that Solar PV/Tesla battery system used in Kauai, Hawaii. 52MWh battery for a 13MW solar farm, latest hyped up largest in Hawaii battery storage which would supply 0.2% of Hawaii's electricity for one day. That is just to cover the daily solar variation. To cover one cloudy day you would have to double that storage. At a cost of $22M for the batteries. $26M for the solar farm for a total cost of $48M for an avg of 2.2MW output = $21.8k/kwavg output. With battery lifespan of 10 yrs, that’s 2.5 X $22M, say total double or $44M + $26M = $70M/2.2Mwavg = $31.8k/kwavg. Only 6X the cost of a substitute Nuscale Nuclear power plant @ ~$5k/kwavg output, at 50 MWe per nuclear module, with a 60-100 yr lifespan, not 25 yrs. 3.8X more power than the solar farm for far lower land area usage. The nuclear has no need for any storage.
