Did Windynation sale me used solar panels beware. I think they did sale me used solar panels. Beware guys.
i just looked on ebay and amazon pictures of windy nation panels and their pictures have the extra holes too in the pictures i even went and checked a few you tube vids of there panels and looks like they all have extra holes on them too
They may be B grade panels.. A grade = brand new perfect, B grade = brand new but with physical damage that does not effect output, or C grade which are basically crap. But I agree with you that does not look right
yea those extra holes indicate for sure that they are used before you bought them under the guise of new so windy nation is selling used solar panels as new report them even in india selling a used item as a new item is illegal
Those holes are drilled by Chinese from many different factories. Mine look just like yours. If you see scuffing marks from hardware-washers-bolts then you got used panels or returned panels. Aluminum scuffs will be found. Looks like you got returned panels, very Ebay normal!
I think you got used panels or a set of returned panels. Windy Nation sells local, probably had a buyer who learned he needed 24 volt after getting them and returned them. They tested it to make sure it's good and restocked them to sell back out. That style is 2016 so doubt there's a issue. Have them comp you some $$
See my video SOLAR TRUTHS 1, has WN panels on it.
I agree I would also think the same thing. The hole are not a clean circle and look how shinny it is on the inside edge of the holes compared to four factory holes. I saw something on ebay saying they were used panels I think for around $96 with free shipping but worked and I can not remember who was selling them. Sorry for your pain.
I never used a pole mount bracket but that maybe why the other holes. The factor hole you can tell are punched out the other are drilled or self tapped at least to me they look that way.
I never see panels like that my self. The 4 normal ones I have seen and I have seen the ones in the middle. Those other ones the 8 a round the corner I never see those with panels. They have got to be used or returns, and then resold Man companies all over are doing this kind of crap now. I'm glad you showed this I will never buy from them, there are other companies I wont buy from.
Wish you the best of luck. I give them ring or email with a pic of the back of the panels and see what the heck they are doing.
Tho's are not new. I Can tell you THEY did the same shit to a friend of mine.. The holes where just pre holes but the frames looked like SHIT and all bent up.
I wish I would have been told you where buying from them. I will say we got some cash back but not worth the pain in the ass. They been running fine for 3 years now.
Sorry you got ripped..
Could be REPO panels from the roof of a California home. There is a place that auctions them off by the thousands. They could be a year or two old. Used panels clean up easy to look very good.
I think you should see this about those chinese solar panels https://youtu.be/Ktuww1AOjyY
damn crap. Selling used panels as new. We have laws in Australia that protect us from crap like that. I would demand my money back and still put in a complaint to the Ombudsman. ( In Australia The Ombudsman is an officer of the Parliament, independent of the government of the day and acts impartially of all parties in dispute. There services are free and available to everyone )
Tell them fuckers u want ur money back cos they r 2nd hand and don't put up with they're bullshit. And if they don't just keep making negative feedback vids on utube…. they will regret trying to CON YOU! and also if they were sold in Australia they wud have been sold as EX Demo panels to be legal if they were used in a show room.
Hello, If you thought your panels were used or had any other concerns about your purchase, I do not understand why you would not contact us directly first? To answer your question:The 100W panels that you received from us are 100% brand new. The 2 holes that you are referring to each corner of the solar panel are drainage holes. Their sole function is to allow moisture/condensation to drain if it collects on the anodized aluminum frame. Additionally, you should also see two holes in the middle of the long-sided aluminum frame (one on each side). These two holes are grounding holes, however, most end users do not ground solar panels that are used in low voltage (e.g. 12 volt) solar systems. The drainage holes and grounding holes are drilled into the aluminum frame at the factory. The mounting holes (oval shaped) are stamped into the aluminum frame at the factory. It is extremely easy to tell if a solar panel is used. At the mounting holes locations on the backside of the aluminum frame there will indentations, grooves, and scratches. This because the mounting hardware (bolts, nuts, washers) are made from stainless steel, which is much harder than the aluminum frame. When the stainless steel nut is tightenend down, the washer and or nut is "tightened" into the aluminum frame and this will create permanent indentations, grooves, and scratches. If you have additional questions or concerns about this issue, you can contact us directly at email@example.com or 805-323-6445. Thank you.
WN says their panels are made by machines so they should all look the same. By looking at both panels holes they don't line up when they are next to each other. Those panels are 100% made by hand. You get what you pay for. Look around their are some panels out there that are a little more in price but way better quality. Anything that is made in or around Asia is low quality.
